Everyone knows what travel is. There’s not a lot to explain: you buy a ticket, go somewhere, have fun. End of story.

Amelia Island is located just off the coast of north Florida in the Atlantic Ocean. This part of the southern United States exudes much history and natural beauty. Fort Clinch is a military base that dates back to 1847 and saw action in both the Civil and Spanish-American wars. Amelia Island is now a vacation destination for anyone looking for coastal enjoyment and seclusion. Fernandina Beach has a historic downtown that offers the visitor a multitude of shopping amenities ranging from surf shops to book stores.

When returning home from long trips abroad, I’m always surprised by how much has changed. Somehow, I seem to have a subconscious expectation that life was on pause ?? just waiting for me to come back and pick up where I left off.
Of course, that isn’t how it works.
I come back to find out that my circle of friends isn’t quite the same. Some people aren’t talking to each other anymore. Old couples have broken up, and new ones have formed. Old roommates have finished school and moved away.

For most of us our day to day life takes place in our homes, apartments and offices.
Each of these locations contain pretty much everything we own, need to survive and identify who we are. Somehow though, when we travel we are able to condense all these ???essentials??? into one or two small bags, carry them on our shoulders and hoist them onto trains.

Blogs grant unparalleled potential for spontaneity and interaction to writers everywhere ?? a virtual printing press, under your fingertips.
But with this new podium comes one of the less desirable traits of mass media: scrutiny from a faceless mob.

I met Mia in New Zealand, while on a bus that was taking us sky diving. I was only along to take photos for my friends, for I had gone skydiving twice before and wanted to save some money.
The initial spark between us was ignited before we arrived at our destination.

Forget flying halfway around the world to find happiness. Christine Garvin shows you how to look locally.

Much like the billion others who read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, I fought the immediate urge to chuck my job, rent, friends and credit card bills and book the first available flight to India so that I could meditate all of my problems away.
