Traveling permanently is a privilege - and akin to the holy grail for some people.
Yet permanent travel can be draining, both physically and mentally, involving constant moving from place to place and regularly experiencing new and challenging situations. This means living out of your comfort zone for much of your journey.
If you’re also trying to run a business at the same time, it’s likely that you might suffer from burnout.

Earlier this year, my husband and I took the plunge and left the UK to run our businesses on the move.
We struck out to find our ‘ideal world’.
What we’ve learned along the way is that we’re not ready to settle down yet. In fact, our ‘ideal world’ lies in moving from place to place, going wherever we fancy next and continue to earn a living as we go.

Long-term travel is often a tricky financially proposition.
Unless you’ve been gifted an inheritance or a lucky lotto ticket, chances are that someone wanting to join the expat community in a foreign country will have to find work there. Teaching English as a Second Language classes is, by far, the job of choice.
Not because of the perks, but simply because it is the easiest type of work to obtain. In my experience, it seems that simply standing upright and speaking several relatively coherent sentences in English is sufficient to land the job.

Upon graduating university the last thing I wanted to do was talk about career fairs, interviews and networking.
I had no interest in leaping directly into the rat race world of 9 to 5 and even less interest in establishing a career. Instead, I planned to pack my backpack after that last exam and board a one-way flight to Australia.
The only problem was a serious lack of funds. Students aren??t known for being the richest bunch around and after 5 years of studying my bank balance wasn??t exactly in good shape.
