I know Laverne and Shirley are long gone (at least off of the TV) but the adult beverages are still prominent in the land of cheese, beer and wine and that land is Fish Creek, Wisconsin in Door County. Visitors to this part of Wisconsin get to enjoy water sports on Lake Michigan in the summer, take snowmobile tours and sled rides in the winter and enjoy harvest time of the fall. Fall is the time when orchards and vineyards are harvested of their bountiful fruits.

I don’t know about you, but my favorite thing to do while on vacation is eat. I’ve traveled recently to Seattle, San Francisco, New York and Denver - and found something new and tasty in each destination. It’s not well known around the blog-o-sphere - but I’m also a Food Network addict. I was watching a show the other day about COPIA and had to check it out.

Cru’ West Village … 3699 Mc Kinney Ave., Suite 109, Dallas, TX? 75204
During a recent field trip to Dallas, Texas;?we stumbled onto a delightful find: Cru’ .
From their website:?
“Established January 2002, Cr?? was conceived as an exciting urban destination to experience and explore the fascinating world of wine. Cr?? offers over 300 selections, some 50 wines by the glass, as well as 14 wine flights daily. Wine selections are well chosen and moderately priced. Custom built wine racks line the back wall. Beautiful hand painted fresco wine labels on canvas of highly regarded wines outline the perimeter wall. The front of the restaurant has French doors that can be opened bringing the climate and atmosphere inside, much like a European Caf?. The bi-fold doors allows us to connect the al fresco patio seating to the inside dining environment. “

The history of wines and vineyards is so old that it comes as no surprise that it is often confused with the history of man. The Bible first noted the creation of wine by Noel, who created a vineyard in which he grew the grapes for the vital juice. He is known as the creator of this wonderful drink.
The status of wine has evolved in Western society over generations, yet it has always been a vital part of our everyday lives. It is a symbol of celebration, health and happiness, and is enjoyed by all on any occasion. In modern society, however, the good stuff is now also a symbol of commercialism, with a specific role in tourism.
