I’m not a huge golfer, I havent ever understood the lure of chasing that little white ball around the lawn - but there are those in my family we are addicts. Every time we talk vacation we have to talk golf courses. I dont really whine much about it because I know that’s prime beach and shopping time for me.
We were researching a vacation to Florida last year - and i had written some on shelling in the Marco Island area and ran across the information on golf on the Paradise Coast. For those of you who dont know, the Paradise coast encompases Naples, Marco Island and part of the Everglades along the southwestern coast.

Those of us from the more normally sized states have a hard time envisioning

the true proportions of Texas. No matter how you try to cross it, it’s an enormously long drive and you can sometimes see the sun rise and set and rise again before you finally get where you’re going. The only way to digest the Lone Star State is in small chunks and one of the tastiest portions is Texas Hill Country.

The temptation to abandon healthy eating habits is especially strong during vacations, when we are diverted from our normal routines. Away from home and on the go, it??s so easy to grab a candy bar from a vending machine or stop at a fast-food drive-thru for a burger and fries. With even a small amount of planning, however, you can continue to eat healthy and feel great! Here are some valuable tips to help you make the best choices. Remember, family members will mimic what you do, so it??s important to lead by example.

The historic village of Chester, NJ is located just 20 minutes from Morristown and features a plethora of shops and eateries conveniently located along the main street of the village. This is an excellent vacation for those of you who like to browse shops and visit small galleries, along with soaking up some revolutionary war erahistory.

Originally known as “Black River,” Chester was established in the early 1700’s along a network of dirt indian trails barely wide enough for a lone horseman that criss-crossed the densely wooded areas of New England. It was by these trails that a group of adventurous settlers from Southold and Easthampton, Long Island, first came to the green hills of Morris County. Two of those trails converged in the area that the Minisink Indians called “Almatunk,” ???black earth bottom??? for Black River - hence the original name of Black River.

Lincoln City
I was born on the Oregon Coast, and as a family we try to visit at least every two years. I don’t have any family left there, but I still get a thrill when we drive the last few miles into Lincoln City and catch our first glimpse of the Pacific Ocean. Although my family moved away when I was just 6 months old, every return feels like a homecoming of sorts. Of course, there are a few things we must do every visit - I would be heartbroken if we skipped them, and oh yeah, the kids would too!
