If you like wearing turtleneck sweaters in July, your seat is ready for you!? To recap for those of you that haven’t followed the recent Southwest Airlines media scandal: Two young, stylish women, both dressed age-appropriately, were approached by Southwest employees recently and asked to change their attire or cover up before boarding their respective flights.? Both women were forced to cover up under the threat of not being allowed to use their purchased tickets.? Remember that the airline does not post a formal dress code.

SetaraQassim, age 21, was forced to wrap herself in a blanket for the entire flight from Tucson toBurbank, and in the warm summer months none-the-less.? A week before this Kayla Ebbert, age 23, came forward to report a similar incident during her trip from San Diego to Tucson. Kayla was accused of being dressed too provocatively to fly. Southern Maine Vacation - Ogunquit or Bust!

Until recently I had never thought of a beach vacation in Maine. Maine conjures images of 10 foot snow drifts and moose and mosquitoes - so when I was looking at the Maine Guide one day while planning a trip to Nova Scotia I saw an ad for Ogunquit. My interest was piqued - I saw sandy beaches and kids playing in the water.

Maine Beach Video

This is a video of the beach in winter - but it still looks like fun - more fun when it’s 80 degrees though!

Further research revealed average summer temperatures in the 80’s in July and the average humidity is about on par with the rest of the US.

Destination: South Lake Tahoe

Destination: South Lake Tahoe

There’s so much to do in and around Lake Tahoe, that it’s hard to squeeze it all into one trip. If you can only get away for a few days, try South Lake Tahoe which is, of course, on the southern end of the lake where California and Nevada meet.

The Nevada side of the state line is home to the casinos. When I spend my money, I like to get something in return, so I’m not much of a gambler, but the casinos offer much more than a spin of the wheel, a roll of the dice and the magic of disappearing money. They also provide plenty of options for dining and entertainment that impart a vibrancy and flare to the area. Not many ski areas come with casinos and that is part of appeal of this world-class resort.
