Canada eh? How ?bout Collingwood, Ontario ~ Canada?s Tahoe

Canada eh? How ?bout Collingwood, Ontario ~ Canada?s Tahoe

It has always been my dream to live in a place where there are mountains and water co-exisitng side by side.  The place that comes to mind is Lake Tahoe in California.  You can snow-ski in the winter time and water-ski in the summertime and enjoy activities all year-round.

Canada boasts of a place that is similar in dynamic terrain; Collingwood, Ontario.  This area just happens to be Ontario’s #1 destination for year-round fun and adventure.  Collingwood is home to the Blue Mountain Ski Resort which has over 30 trails ranging from green (easy) to double black (expert).  Blue Mountain Resort is a Intrawest Resort which is the same developers as Whistler and Blackhomb.  I have heard only good things about Whistler/Blackhomb so I can imagine what Blue Mountain must be like.

Paris - Arc de Triomphe

Paris - Arc de Triomphe

Though less artistic than its older cousin of Porte Saint-Denis, the Arc de Triomphe de l’Etoile is the more famous and far larger. Set atop the hill of Chaillot it forms the center from which radiates a dozen busy Parisian avenues.

There are in fact several “Arc de Triomphe’s” in Paris. A large arch with two thick towers surmounted by a large horizontal section has been a popular architectural feature since the time of Louis XIV (the ‘14th’) in the late 17th century.

Interview: Matt Harding Talks Travel (Seriously, No Dancing)

Interview: Matt Harding Talks Travel (Seriously, No Dancing)

Many of you know Matt Harding from his ludicrous trips around the world, dancing his ‘prosector dun struck gold’ dance.

He’s appeared in major media all across the US, and featured as one of the top internet stars.

I figured Matt was pretty darn sick of talking/doing his dance, so when I contacted him for an interview, I promised I wouldn’t ask about the shtick that made him famous.

The Mysterious Origins of the Travel Bug

The Mysterious Origins of the Travel Bug

Every few years I get this strange feeling.

It is something hard to explain ?? I feel antsy, like I am supposed to be doing something important, but can??t quite figure it out.

Like that feeling when you have something on the tip of your tongue and it is so frustrating that you can??t spit it out.

I scratch my head, pace, have sleepless nights until it dawns on me…I know this feeling. I need to go somewhere, get outside the box, have a new experience.

Review: Kill Boring Travel Periods With The Nintendo DS

Picture yourself sitting in a train station, airport, ferry dock, or somewhere similar, with hordes of people going about their business. They’re boarding, disembarking, buzzing, or like you, they’re waiting. Endlessly waiting.

One of the travel realities that’s rarely revealed is the amount of waiting that accompanies every type of journey.
