My son is still too young (under a year) to go to Disney World in Orlando but I’m sure it will be on the list of places to go once he is old enough. I have only been once and that was in high school on a spring break trip to the Orlando - Daytona area. Walt Disney has always seemed to shine very bright through generations past and onward into the future.

Orlando, Florida isn’t just about The Mouse or The Movies. It’s not all about kid’s, either. The Orlando area boasts a host of eclectic annual events that are not to be missed. Here are a few favorites to consider:
Near the end of January (January 20-25 in 2009) party in the streets of Eaton (20 miles north of downtown Orlando) at the Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities for a week long celebration of African American artistry and culture.

When Walt Disney decided to build a theme park on swamp land in central Florida, he was probably the only one who had a clear vision of what the future would bring. What started out as a theme park plunked down in the middle of nowhere just a generation ago has now grown into one of the most visited and most celebrated family resorts in the world. And it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon!
Yes, it can be crowded. So if that’s a problem for you, be careful to choose a time to visit when most kids are in school. However, there’s not really an off-season in Orlando anymore. It has become a 4 season destination.
