When I was a kid spending summers at the Shore, luxury was the furthest thing from anyone’s mind. It was all about sand and surf and the freedom of bare feet, late sundowns and no school. However, now that we’re all older, we sometimes want to pamper ourselves in a little luxury, even when we’re at the beach and in Rehoboth Beach Delaware we have plenty of opportunity to do just that. Here are some ideas to consider for that special trip to the beach:

A mile long and 2 blocks wide, so you’re never more than a block from salt water-that’s Dewey Beach Delaware, perhaps the skinniest town ever! You can walk to the rambunctious Atlantic Ocean or the more tranquil Rehoboth Bay in just a couple of minutes from anywhere in town. You can’t get much closer to the sea without actually being on a boat.
If you prefer to travel north or south along the coast, the good time Jolley Trolley will get you there in beach style. This inexpensive shuttle service operates on a regular schedule throughout the summer months and is a popular way to get safely from home along Highway 1 where the boisterous nightlife often spills out into the streets.

Heading to Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand and looking to play some golf while you are there? With over 70 golf courses to choose from every kind of golfer can find his or her match. Most of the golf courses consist of water hazards and plenty of sand bunkers to make the game even more interesting.
The Man O’ War course boasts of back to back island greens and water on mostly every hole. Contrary to most coastal golf courses where the layout is flat the Glen Dornoch course actually has high undulations built into the course to create shot-making at its’ finest. Myrtle Beach also is home to a TPC (Tournament Players Championship) course that allows the amateur golfer to play where the pros play.  Â

To old timers, Myrtle Beach is all about laid back family vacations at the beach-lazy days spent strolling in the sand and sultry evenings on the boardwalk with sticky cotton candy and a poket full of quarters for playing skee ball. The only golf anyone played involved windmills and clown obstacles on astro turf-covered miniature golf courses. Boy, has that changed!

Today, Myrtle Beach is all about golf. With over 90 courses along the 70 mile stretch of coast known as the Grand Strand, it may well be the most golf-rich area in the the country. The mild climate allows for nearly year round play and the variety of links ranges from ultra exclusive to bargain basement.

Americans have been vacationing at Nags Head North Carolina since the 1830’s and with very good reason - the beach! The barrier islands that make up the Outer Banks, of which Nags Head is a part, have some of the best beaches in the country.

While walking beside the ocean, you get the feeling that the thin strand of sand goes on forever. (It really stretches 100 miles.) There’s the soothing rhythm of breaking waves on one side and tall sand dunes dotted with sea oats on the other.

I love vacation rentals.? I have a husband, 2 kids - and a couple dogs - so when we vacation it’s a moving department store/zoological park.? We are dragging around the favorite bunny for sleeping, the special pillow, extra pup treats and the video games.? That’s a bunch of junk to cram in your run-of-the-mill hotel room.? Vacation Rentals are the perfect alternative - there’s plenty of room, you can cook breakfast (or throw donuts at everyone, including the dogs) so you dont have to get up at 7am while you’re on VACATION.? Bonus points - they usually have a washer and dryer - and more than one TV.? It’s like being at home - but you’re not!? A vacation rental at the beach is a necessity - here’s why:

Who??™d have ever thought that a family beach resort on the Gulf Coast of Alabama would become an incredible concert venue?

Well, you??™re right, Britney and Mariah and Justin don??™t perform here ??“ not yet, anyway. But Steppenwolf, ZZ Top, Widespread Panic, The Black Crows and Hank Williams, Jr, did in Summer 2007 at the 10,000 seat Ampitheater at The Wharf in OrangeBeach. Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace - with opener Seether - will kick off the 2008 concert season on Sunday March 2nd.

Located on the southern-most end of North Carolina’s brunswick Islands, Sunset Beach offers one of the most soothing beach getaways you will experience. As you cross the one land pontoon bridge over the salt marsh, you’re entering a different world - one of laid back atmosphere and quiet relaxation.

? Melbourne, Australia.? “The Beachcomber” is a casual beachside cafe with basic Australian-American lunch food and drinks.? The food and scenery were great, but the service was horrible to say the least. Would not go back- EVER!

???Maui No Ka Oi???, translates quite simply to Maui is the Best! And if you??™ve ever traveled to the Hawaiian Islands, you know exactly why this catch phrase is so popular- because Maui, also known as the ???Magic Isle???, is filled to the brim with art, culture, and enough history to sink a whaling boat.

The island of Maui is the second most popular tourist destination in this south pacific island chain. Nearly 120,000 people call this 727 sq. mile isle their home, while pineapple and sugarcane are still their key exports. 2.5 million visitors each year travel to the golden-white sand beaches, mile-high mountain peaks and scores of breathtaking, natural waterfalls, all creating an ideal backdrop to the most relaxing vacation of your life.
