I call it the People Chain. It’s like Facebook, offline, with edge.
The idea is to get random contacts in random places and see where it leads you. Might be a palace, might be a dark alley, but knowing anyone here who knows anyone there usually leads everywhere.

Whenever I book a trip, I always opt for the travel insurance. I can never predict what may happen and, without adequate protection, all of the money I have paid for airline tickets, rentals, excursions, lodging and the like can just be washed down the drain and there’s nothing I can do about it.
For a long vacation or a trip overseas, this can amount to a significant amount of money that you cannot afford to lose. Perhaps you’ve been saving for a year or more to pay for the trip. Even worse is when you put it on credit cards and have to pay it off (plus interest) anyway, without ever enjoying it.

I’m not a huge golfer, I havent ever understood the lure of chasing that little white ball around the lawn - but there are those in my family we are addicts. Every time we talk vacation we have to talk golf courses. I dont really whine much about it because I know that’s prime beach and shopping time for me.
We were researching a vacation to Florida last year - and i had written some on shelling in the Marco Island area and ran across the information on golf on the Paradise Coast. For those of you who dont know, the Paradise coast encompases Naples, Marco Island and part of the Everglades along the southwestern coast.

Orlando, Florida is centrally located in Florida and is home to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios,

Busch Gardens and SeaWorld just to start. Cape Canaveral which is the home of the Space Shuttle is not too far away on Florida’s space coast. Surrounding areas such as Winter Haven and Kissimmee are home to winter training camps for many major league baseball teams. So in essence there is something for everyone to do young and old alike.

One of the more unusual features of my new book is its “commentary track” endnotes, which comment on the ragged edges behind the creation of each tale.

Travelers to Asia know the feeling.
A hundred pairs of eyes bear down on you, judging you, observing you. As a foreigner, you’re a tourist, a D-level celebrity, a possible criminal and a source of information on foreign affairs. You’re simply different.

When one mentions “Memphis” there is only one place in the world which bears that name. Many know it as the home of Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Martin Luther King and fine barbecue. To say the least, Memphis is home of the Delta Blues and Beale Street where the muddy waters began to flow for the first time at the turn of the 20th Century.

A must visit when in Memphis is the legendary Beale Street Historic District located in downtown Memphis. Whether you want to listen to street performers play the blues or check out the museums that cater to the birthplace of rock-n-roll it’s all here in the Beale Street Historic District.

When looking back through the mystique of history, we tend to impose super-human status to those who stood up for their beliefs in a revolutionary way.
For some of them, the decision to act was conscious defiance to the status quo. For others, they were simply in the right place at the wrong time, and found themselves acting on behalf of others lacking the courage to speak out.
